Mark Magee attends education conference and world's largest golf course management trade show

Fisherville, Ontario-Mark Magee, Superintendent, at Coral Creek Golf Course in Fisherville, Ontario was one of the 16,156 attendees at the 2010 Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Education Conference and Golf Industry Show, Feb. 8-12, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.

Presented by GCSAA, the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), the Golf Industry Show is an innovative trade show that features unparalleled networking opportunities and hands-on access to golf course and facility management solutions for professional members of the golf industry.

Participating partners of the Golf Industry Show are the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA), the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), the National Golf Foundation (NGF) and the United States Golf Association (USGA).

The 2010 Golf Industry Show attracted 16,156 industry professionals, including golf course superintendents, owners, club managers, builders, architects, appraisers, developers, green chairmen and golf professionals.

The GCSAA Education Conference, held in conjunction with the Golf Industry Show, is the largest educational conference in the golf course management industry. More than 4,730 attended the 2010 GCSAA Education Conference, which offered 99 seminars focused on the professional development of attendees, including agronomy, business management, communication, environmental management and leadership. More than 40 additional hours of panel discussions, sessions and forums that touched on such subjects as the nation's economy, diversity, media/public relations, etc., were offered as well.

The trade show, which represented the full spectrum of golf facility management and golf business, included 657 exhibitors and 204,000 square feet of exhibition space representing significant aspects of a golf operation-from ownership, feasability and design, construction and operations.
